In this report you will see novelties from the recent Inhorgenta exhibition. The main hero is the Telemeter from Junghans, but German brand had some other surprises too. Note that both Telemeters come as Limited Edition watches and probably might be sold out when this article will be published. Nevertheless, I had a chance to check them closer, so you can see both colors in the video and photos.

Junghans Telemeter Limited Edition – What is it?

New Telemeter is based on the well-known chrono from German brand and it builds upon the classic design with help of new color shades. As you can notice, there will be green and blue colors, while the “standard” is very strict with silver dial. Don’t worry, new colors actually look in place, and you will see it further on the photos.

Whole design layout stays the same, so let’s start first with a dial. The main idea here is to remind us about chronographs from 50’s. I think Junghans succeeded here and new watch looks like something taken from your grandpa’s collection. Of course, I mean it in a good sense, as the sophistication of the dial is true pleasure to look at. The longer you stare at it, the more additional features you notice here and there.

Whole layout features two subdials which are just embedded on the mainplate, and there is no additional color differentiation or else. All digits on the main scale are in place, but some of them are slightly cut in order to house subdials. Small catch is that there is also no date indicator. In my opinion it is a great choice as whole design stays clean and solid without any unnecessary features.

Worth noting that luminous coating is applied on the digits and hands, but not on the indices or separate dots. Such design looks a bit more sophisticated and helps to show how Junghans decided to revise all the minor things in order to achieve a classy look with the influence of old watches.

Case and Movement

Green color dial version comes with gold PVD-coated steel case, while blue one stays in classic silver polished steel. As it was mentioned before, new watches look equally good in person, so it is the question on what you prefer to have in your collection. Size is 40.8mm and thickness is 12.6mm, and the whole design doesn’t take a lot of space on your wrist. Moreover, there is a small trick with the shape as the rear diameter is smaller then the front. This way designers make the profile look even slimmer visually, it works and it adds a bit of sophistication to the chronometer.

Junghans Telemeter Edition has classic layout, so you can expect two pushers and one large crown. All elements are easy to handle, so you won’t have any issues. Pushers are rather large, and come in very hefty design. Crown is not difficult to take out thanks to curved case shape.

Rear cover is transparent and you can appreciate the movement through it. Of course, Junghans also engraved the watch number and some of technical information there. Overall it works nicely with classic design and movement has beautiful finish. Note that all elements are mirror-polished, so you will have to be careful while wearing this one.

Watchmaker has placed automatic movement inside. It is a J880.3 caliber with 42 hours power reserve. Such specification should be more than enough for everyday use. As you remember, we have stop function, telemeter and tachymeter. No date window, and again, I am happy about that.

Junghans Telemeter Edition – Price and Availability

New watches will be produced in 150 pieces run only, so you should hurry if you want to get one. Such special versions get sold out quickly, so it won’t be surprising to see those gone. Overall I like the idea of making the new colors limited and not doing a crazy price increase. Such strategy gives buyer a chance to get something special without destroying the bank account. As it was mentioned, silver color standard edition should be available all the time, so you can get this one if blue and green watches will be sold out.

FIS Edition Trondheim

Another Limited Edition came in two different models. First one is 1972 Competition with its large case and pushers on the top section. The main difference is the dial finish with silver color and sunray brush with snowflake print. It might sounds simple, but looks rather impressive in person. Note that tachymeter is in dark blue color. All those features create elegant and stylish look which is different from “common” edition of the same watch. As you might remember, that one is a bit more restricted in terms of additional features. It is also worth noting the Norway flag on the lower subdial.

Second watch is based on 1972 Chronoscope. Dial changes are pretty much the same, but all this gets combined with a bit more classic chronograph style. Somehow it works too, and this watch looks impressive, but doesn’t get any additional cost. Yes, both watches have exactly the same price as non-ice editions, and this is quite good that Junghans decided not to go with any crazy markups. Both will be limited to 150 pieces only.

Junghans Mega
One of the glass posts was occupied with something different from typical “analog” watch. Yes, I write it specifically as there were some digital timepieces too. So-called Mega series comes as Limited Edition, and there will be only 120 pieces produced. Whole design is just different and bold, but yet manages to immediately identify as something coming from German watchmaker. Note that digital timepieces are combined with premium materials and this is completely different experience in comparison with others.

Stainless steel is combined with massive bracelets, which work nicely with bold design. I think Junghans designers did a great job here and whole design looks impressive in person. Price will be set at the range of 590-690 EUR, what sounds like an interesting offer for a limited edition watch from the famous brand.
All of the novelties should be already available for order, but as they are extremely limited, it is better to hurry. I will try to review some of those if there will be a chance, so stay tuned for upcoming reviews.
