Zenith El Primero A386 Revival Hands On

First of all I have to say that this is an actual name of the new watch – Zenith El Primero A386 Revival. Under those words you will find impressive copy of the classic El Primero model. Case size – check, various design elements – check, watchface design – check. Sounds quite cool, right? Classic Reimagined

I have to admit that one look at this watch is enough to say that this is true Zenith timepiece. Just look at these three. No matter which color you would pick, new model still looks good and should be suitable for any occasion. Moreover, I am not huge fan of golden color, but here it works just right. This shade doesn’t look off and underlines classic nature of the new model. It is also good that authors decided to go for brushed finish, which just adds visual interest. All this is reduced to 38 mm size, which was used in original release. Well, what other watches do you know with brushed gold case?

Nevertheless, list of features doesn’t end with case. Designers decided to “digitize” each element of the original watch and replicate it in the new release. Lugs, pushers – those are identical to the good old El Primero initial release. Even shape of hands and indices are the same as on original watch. The only thing that will be noticed by fans – transparent back cover. Yes, original watch had closed cover, but now you can appreciate movement inside.

Famous Engine

Zenith El Primero A386 Revival features modern version of the famous El Primero movement. It is 400th version, which has 50 hours power reserve and assembled out of 278 parts. Note that weight has special finish that makes it even more interesting in person.

Zenith El Primero A386 Revival – Limited?

The main thing to remember is that new watch will be limited to 50 pieces for each color. Moreover, each watch will have 50 years warranty and that sounds impressive, doesn’t it? 🙂 The only thing I am not sure is alligator strap. In my opinion this model would look even better with suede or just classic leather strap.
