Newcomer was presented on Baselworld 2018. Three letters hint on the main function here – several time zones display. Now we can get it in refreshed design, and OneWheee took a chance to check new model closer.

Новинка была представлена на Baselworld 2018. Три буквы намекают на главную функцию – отображение нескольких временных поясов. Теперь мы получаем её в новом дизайне, и OneWheee выпал шанс рассмотреть новую модель поближе.

GMT Celebration

Straightaway I can say that new model celebrates 55 year anniversary of Carrera watches. Swiss manufacturer decided to mark it with special edition which won’t be limited. Don’t forget that this is a chrono model, which also features GMT function. In other words we receive manufacture chronograph movement with two timezones indication. That is quite impressive, especially when combined with skeletonized dial. Combine it with dark dial color and you will get truly nice combination. Of course, case here is made out of polished steel.

Сразу могу сказать, что модель отмечает 55-летний юбилей часов Carrera. Швейцарская компания решила отметить его специальной версией, которая не будет ограниченной. Не забудьте, что это хронограф с функцией GMT. Другими словами мы получаем часы с мануфактурным механизмом и индикацией двух часовых поясов. Это впечатляет, особенно когда совмещено со скелетированной шкалой. Добавьте сюда тёмный цвет, и получится по-настоящему завораживающая комбинация. Разумеется, корпус здесь изготовлен из полированной стали.

Second time zone needs its own time scale, and you will find it on bezel. Note also special “Day / Night” division with help of blue and black colors. Silver font makes it easier to read digits, but that’s not all. Take a look at second time zone hand, and you will see that here it is placed on the second position. In other words, this red hand installed right between hours and minutes hands. Just like this wasn’t enough, Swiss watchmaker decided to have it overlap internal hour marks, so that owner can read second time zone faster. As for hand shape, don’t expect anything unusual – just pure classic with red and white.

Второй часовой пояс имеет свою шкалу, которую можно видеть на безеле. Обратите также внимание на специальную индикацию дня и ночи при помощи синего и чёрного цветов. Серебряный шрифт хорошо видим, но это ещё не всё. Обратите внимание на стрелку для второго часового пояса, и вы увидите, что она размещена на втором уровне. Другими словами, красная стрелка расположилась точно между часовой и минутной стрелками. Как будто этого недостаточно, она также закрывает внутренние отметки, чтобы легче определить время. Что касается формы, то не ожидайте что-то необычное – только классика с красным и белым цветами.

First of all I want to say that Tag Heuer Carerra Chronograph GMT is big. If you have thin wrists or just don’t like big chunk of metal on your wrist – steer away. Well, if you stayed here and still reading – we are on the same wave. 😉 I like overall design of this watch, and in my opinion size is the the most important part here, which brings feeling of “the true thing.”. Moreover, this is men’s watch, so we can forgive such dimensions.

Для начала хотелось бы заметить, что Tag Heuer Carerra Chronograph GMT большой. Если у вас тонкое запястье, или же вы просто не любите крупные часы – можете смело закрывать статью. Если же вы всё ещё читаете – мы на одной волне. 😉 Мне нравится дизайн данной модели, и размер как раз играет важную роль, приносит чувство “вещи”. Более того, это мужские часы, так что размеры можно простить.

Availability

As I wrote above, new model will be available with two types of straps. Both look surprisingly good, so the final choice will be up to you. In my opinion this model offers perfect “entry ticket” to watches with manufacture calibre inside. Moreover, it just shines with its masculinity, what should be appreciated by future owners. 🙂
