Breitling Avenger Hurricane Military Hands-On Baselworld 2017

We tried it in Basel, on Baselworld exhibition, and now can share our impressions with you. Straightaway I can say that it should be available immediately, so you can order it right now. 🙂

First word that comes to mind when you get to hold and wear this watch – BIG. This is not a dress watch, but truly big accessory that should look good on thick wrist. Don’t even think about it if you have thin arms, or go to gym before buying this big boy. You can see on wrist shots that watch looks fine on my hand, but again I would recommend to try it first. To better position this new model, lugs are slightly bent, so that watch wraps around your wrist.

Of course, not the last part here plays special material Breitlight, which is 3x lighter than titanium and therefore Breitling Avenger Hurricane Military doesn’t bend you to one side because of huge weight. Moreover it has unusual uneven structure, which is gloss and looks great in person. Back cover is also covered with special writing, which will remind you about model name and your watch number. Yes, it will be a limited edition, and Breitling plans to release only 1000 pieces worldwide.

On the front side dial is made in 24 hour scale and features three subdials together with date window. All functions are activated with help of pushers with ribbed surface, while crown features small Breitling logo. Indices, hands and numbers are covered with lume material, but note that color is closer to beige, what gives vintage feeling to this watch.

Breitling Avenger Hurricane Military will be available only with one type of strap, which can be seen on the photos. Note that it has special rubber backing, which should provide better grip and durability on your wrist. Everything is secured with help of adjustable clasp – it’s easy to close it, and watch will stay on your hand. I am bit afraid about textile top part, because even on the tested sample there were some threads out, and such material is easier to get dirty.

As it was mentioned before, new model should be available immediately, and I would recommend to hurry, because 1000 pieces can fly away quite fast. Breitling Avenger Hurricane Military might have a long name, but its purpose is quite simple – to be a precise timekeeper with durable materials and clever design. I have no doubt that professionals will replace standard band with something more durable/flexible, but still there is no obvious rival for this model on the market.
