Alexander Shorokhoff Picassini Tourbillon Review

Without any extra introductions I can say that here we are going to talk about new Alexander Shorokhoff Picassini Tourbillon. This watch comes as another limited edition from German watchmaker. Well, name also hints on the main feature which is hidden behind bright colorful dial. I was lucky to catch it on recent Inhorgenta exhibition and here are some impressions.
Another unusual Alexander Shorokhoff watch here.

The Great Idol

Alexander Shorokhoff Picassini Tourbillon hints with its name on the famous painter. Pablo Picasso became well-known for his avantgarde creations, so German watchmaker decided to compress it into wearable form.

Mr.Shorokhoff managed to create quite interesting composition which looks great in person. Let’s take a closer look at what we get here.

Half and Half

Main idea behind dial is separation into two halves – men’s and women’s parts. As you can guess, feminine side presented in form of smooth curves, while masculine area features rough sharp angles. Note that color mix stays equal, what adds visual interest to the dial.

There is also special sector between 9 and 10 marks which manufacturer names “diamond mine”. I guess, there is no need to explain why it is placed in feminine side? 🙂 Some sectors here are hand-painted and some of them feature mother of pearl.

Funny thing is that checkerboard pattern on the outer layout actually corresponds to minute and hour marks. This might come handy for those who are worried about time-tracking. 😀

Tourbillon!

It would be impossible not to notice the main feature here. Special window with white bridge show tourbillon in its full beauty. German watchmaker installed here Kal.8950 Concepto movement with manual winding.

You can also appreciate hand-engraved finish on the rear side. All this is packed into relatively compact case with 41×41 mm size. It should look fine on average-sized man’s wrist.

Alexander Shorokhoff Picassini Tourbillon – How Many?

It was mentioned about limited production run of the new watch. There will be 5 piece in total, so you better hurry if you want to get one. Price is set at 30000 EUR, what is quite large sum.

Yes, there are a lot of rivals in this market area, but few can actually offer extremely limited run with such unusual dial design. I wonder how fast all five pieces will find their owners… 🙂
