Yes, today we are going to talk about Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford – special edition presented on Baselworld 2018. Surprisingly, designers decided to add not only some special styling cues, but also completely rework watch case! In my opinion it is one of the most interesting novelties from Swiss watchmaker. Удивило, что дизайнеры не только добавили несколько штрихов, но и полностью переработали корпус! Я считаю это одной из самых интересных новинок от швейцарской компании. Давайте рассмотрим её поближе. Of course, the main feature can be noticed from the first sight. This is special carbon case, which wasn’t used in any of previous Monaco editions. Last year on Geneva car show I wondered who will be the first to use “baked” carbon in watch. Well, here you can see one of the first decent implementations of this material. I have to admit – such part looks impressive, and traditional squarish shape only adds visual appeal to the new watch. Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford is just different from other watches, and I have no doubt that it will be appreciated by future owners. Nevertheless, I was surprised to see leather strap combined with such case. Yes, it is classic choice, but what about carbon bracelet? Wouldn’t that make even more impressive watch?

Признаю, данная деталь выглядит впечатляюще, и традиционная квадратная форма только добавляет шарма. Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford явно отличается от других часов, и это понравится будущим владельцам. Тем не менее, меня удивил кожаный ремешок с такими часами. Да, это классический выбор, но как насчёт карбонового браслета? По-моему, в итоге бы вышла более впечатляющая модель.

Color on the Top

Another difference – usage of different color on the dial. As you can see on photos, watch received aqua blue numbers and indices. This shade is the favorite for Bamford. Surprisingly, it looks good with dark grey of carbon case and creates striking composition. Yes, some might say that it looks a bit too much, but I doubt that somebody will actually change his mind because of this. Moreover, even hands and subdials are finished in the same color. No worries, hour marks stayed in silver, and those color shades look impressive once combined together in single watchface. You have to see this watch in person in order to understand its beauty.

Ещё одно отличие – использование другого цвета на циферблате. Как вы можете видеть на фото, часы получили светло-синие цифры и индексы. Это любимый цвет Bamford. Удивило, что он прекрасно смотрится с карбоновым корпусом. Да, некоторые могут сказать, что это слишком ярко. но я сомневаюсь, что кому-то часы не понравятся по данной причине. Более того, даже стрелки и шкалы выполнены в том же оттенке. Не беспокойтесь, часовые отметки выделены серебряным и эти цвета создают интересную композицию вместе. Стоит пощупать часы лично, чтобы понять их красоту.

Hands On

As you can guess, I wouldn’t forgive myself for missing the chance to play with newcomer, and now I am ready to share my impression. It was written above, but I will repeat again – case look stunning, and can be even named as the main eye-catcher here. As for the blue indices…well, they are unusual and add color to overall strict composition. Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford is still noticeable on your wrist, and carbon case didn’t take away that “true thing” feeling. Nevertheless, I still hope that we will see version with carbon bracelet so that Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford would look even more impressive.

Как вы можете догадаться, я не упустил возможности попробовать новинку, и теперь готов поделиться впечатлениями. Как уже отмечалось выше, и я повторю ещё раз, корпус выглядит просто шикарно, и его смело можно назвать главной изюминкой здесь. Что касается голубых отметок…они необычные и добавляют цвета в строгий стиль. Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford чувствуется на запястье, и карбон не убрал чувство “вещи”. Тем не менее, я надеюсь, что в будущем мы увидим карбоновый браслет для более необычного вида.

While some other watchmakers add special logo, change boxing and happy with it, Swiss watchmaker decided to go full scale. Yes, it is still classic and legendary model, but now it looks truly special. Tag Heuer Monaco Bamford should be available soon and as far as I understood there would be amount limitation. Nevertheless, if you were looking into Monaco before, now you have a perfect chance to get something special. Price should be set around 8000 EUR, what is quite reasonable level for something unusual on your wrist. Moreover, designers didn’t go crazy with case size, so it is not that serious as it may sound. Look at photos, and you will see how it looks on my wrist.
