Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 brings new features to SmartWatches

Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45

Hi!
Yes, this article is dedicated to the new SmartWatch – Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45. Newcomer is quite surprising and shows that Swiss company decided to completely rethink their smartwatches strategy and offer something different from what we can get today.
As usual, don’t forget to like our Facebook page, so that you can get fresh articles on time.

Truly modular

You can guess from the name of this model that the main feature is modularity. The main feature is that you can change main modules – one can be mechanical 3 hands or Chrono Tourbillon with COSC certification, and of course so-called connected module (or smartwatch itself). So no possible exchanges and other extra things, you get two swiss timepieces in one box, and then it’s up to you which one will be on your wrist today. Now, Tag Heuer, please, introduce double strap, so that both modules can be on hand! 🙂 Surprisingly, that’s not all, and you can change lugs (!), straps and buckles, this feature is not so common among SmartWatches. Casing made from satin or polished grade 5 titanium, or plated with 18K 5N rose gold, or in black ceramic, with or without diamonds: after choosing a watch from the 56 different versions available from its launch (a selection of 11 standard models are systematically offered in store + 45 others on request), the entire exterior of the watch can be customized. By the way, there are 18 different choices for strap only! Well, I guess such feature will be appreciated by customers.

Under the hood

Hardware was also refined and upgraded, so now watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters, features GPS and NFC sensors, which can be later used for payment systems, and AMOLED screen. Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 should feature Android Wear 2.0 out of the box, so here Swiss manufacturer decided to continue what was started by their first connected watch. The watch is powered by an Intel® AtomTM processor Z34XX series and operates on Android WearTM 2.0. Moreover, we can see quite unusual move here in terms of sales. Tag Heuer watches are usually sold in boutiques, but this one will be available via online order, so you can make your own combination and buy it on the special web.

Is it worth it?

Well, to sum it up, Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 does something what wasn’t done by others – combines two opposites – mechanical watch and SmartWatch. Both are designed and made by Swiss manufacturer, so it adds to overall value. Of course, final price will be higher than before, but now you get two timepieces at the same! On the pictures you can see possible options, but we will wait for the possibility to try it in person in Basel and write detailed review. Stay tuned. 😉
