Sinn Hunting Watch 3006 Hands On

On recent Municthime expo Sinn presented several novelties. Well, today’s one caught my eye from the first sight. This is a new Sinn Hunting Watch 3006, and name hints on who should be using this modification. Nice massive chrono comes with several interesting functions, so let’s take a closer look.

Forest Chrono

First of all let me ask you how many are actually hunting? Yeah, I thought so. Well, I still have no doubt that this watch will have its buyers, be those real hunters or just watch fans. Just take a look at this nice huge chrono, and you will understand why. Dial color hints on forest shade – dark green looks truly unusual and suitable for this watch. Now take a careful look at 6 o’clock area. Yep, that’s a moonphase, and this watch is actually first Sinn timepiece to have such function.

Of course, manufacturer claims that it will come handy for hunting, but nobody stops you from admiring this minimalistic design. Just look at it – even moon is finished in traditional German style, without adding any art “contributions”. In my opinion that’s a definite plus for this model. Moreover, Moon is luminous and will be visible even in dark conditions.

Reason behind such great addition is quite simple – German hunting regulations. Yep, there is special law, which prohibits hunting with artificial light, so you can do it only under moonlight. Sinn Hunting Watch 3006 should help owner decide when it will be the perfect moment to hunt with help of full moon. Quite an interesting story behind well-known function, right? 🙂

Unusual Complications

Well, watch is nice not only because of its new function, but also whole design can be instantly identified as Sinn watch. Those clean lines work good with busy dial. Moreover, note that new model also has central mounted date indicator. This is quite unusual take on common feature, right? Moreover, German watchmaker decided to make it adjustable with separate button.

Oh yeah, now you won’t have to waste your time “rewinding” watch because of wrong date. Of course, whole dial is covered with sapphire glass, anti-reflective covering is present from both sides. Just like this wasn’t enough, Sinn also added Tegiment, which is also scratch-resistant. Not enough? What about Ar-Dehumidifying technology, which will help you avoid fogging? In my opinion, it is one impressive powerhouse from German watchmaker.

Options

Even though leather is more associated with hunting, that’s not the version I would pick up. Sinn Hunting Watch 3006 will be also available with metal bracelet. Believe me, once you have this option with new model, it is absolutely impressive combo.

Heavy, cold and comfortable to wear – what else you can wish for? Just look at those photos and video – isn’t it beautiful. In my opinion, that combo is the most “Sinn-ish” out of two. Well, leather strap is also comfortable to wear – soft, wrapping around your wrist… Nevertheless, I would choose metal, even though it is a bit more expensive.

Right for Season

Do not hurry though – watch is not available yet. Both pieces that you see on photos and video – engineering samples. Normal production will start in the end of this year, and now manufacturer takes preorders. Price is set at quite reasonable level for watch with Valjoux 7751 movement inside. Frankly speaking, does it even matter if you do hunting with this watch or not? 😀
