Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot Review on Baselworld

Hi!
Yes, we continue our hands-on articles with Oris watches from BaselWorld. This time we will break divers reports streak and show you Big Crown Pro Pilot model. Of course, it is completely different type, what is obvious on the photos.
By the way, here you can read review with another Oris watch.

Name says it all – new model is part of pilot series from Swiss manufacturer, and therefore it features some special design cues. First of all you can notice that it doesn’t have Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot doesn’t have bezel on its casing. Manufacturer decided to implement clean and minimalistic style, which should look good on any occasion. Moreover, visual interest is added with special angled engraving, which is repeated on the backside as well.

As usual, you will also find flywheel with traditional Oris red color. As you can see from writings on the case cover, Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot is water resistant, but I highly doubt that somebody will think about diving with it. Whole casing is made out of stainless steel and has nice satin finish, which is absolutely suitable here. Should I say that metal strap is a must for this model, and leather just won’t create the same appeal as you see on the photos? 🙂

Dial also comes in matching grey color. Moreover, if you look carefully, you can notice metallic sheen on it. Of course, there is also separate window with day and date. What I would change – color of those indicators, because black looks out of overall styling. What about the same grey color and white digits? Moreover, I am still wondering when we will see watches with those indicators intergrated in smooth way. Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot offers clean dial, which should be easy to read. Hour and minutes hands look elegant and create nice combination with this simple digits font. Pro Pilot should be available immediately, and I would recommend it for those who are tired from all divers around and would like to have something elegant and smart looking.
