Meistersinger Metris Hands On

Today we are going to talk about new watch from famous German watchmaker – Meistersinger Metris. It was presented on recent Baselworld exhibition and we had a chance to try it and check it in person. New model reworks some typical cues, found in every model from Meistersinger. Manufacturer claims that fresh product will be robust and handy in everyday life. Well, let’s take a closer look at what will be offered under this simple name.

Back into 70’s

I think it is difficult not to notice classic design of the new watches. Well, it is even written in the press release that designers were aspired by watch cases design from 70’s. Authors consider this time as the golden years for mechanic watches, and therefore decided to use some features for the new watch. Frankly speaking, I don’t mind.

Look at photos – we get quite compact (just 38 mm) elegant case, which should look good with any outfit. Simple smooth lines have their own beauty and special crown guard only adds to overall perception. In my opinion this watch should be excellent for everyday use. Add here classic Meistersinger dial, and you will have quite nice combo. Needle-shaped hand is still plain, and I wonder when designers will be brave enough to alter its appearance. Nevertheless, here it doesn’t jump out and looks suitable.

Looking Big

Small size sits well on your wrist. Moreover, all colors come with nice NATO strap, which just wraps around your wrist. To be honest, I can’t even imagine Meistersinger Metris with metal or leather strap. Manufacturer found perfect combo, and there is no need to break it. By the way, I also like this magnifying section over date window. Yes, this is not a jumping hour movement, like some other models from German brand.

Meistersinger Metris – When?

My personal favorite is ivory dial with blue strap. Just look at it – gorgeous, isn’t it? 🙂 As for availability, it should be sold when this article will be online. I am happy to see that Meistersinger is still able to surprise us without changing its main features. This might be a perfect choice for summer, and small size is a solid advantage for new model.
