Another day, another watch from SIHH 2018. 🙂 It is quite interesting to see Swiss companies focusing on Geneva expo. Well, let’s wait for Baselworld 2018. As for this article, we will talk about new Armin Strom Pure Resonance. Name hints that this is another version of well-known model. Let’s take a closer look at what has changed.

Focused Style
Armin Strom is famous for their obsession with movement manufacturing. Well, every watch from them has “nothing extra” design. Nevertheless, here it was taken as maxima for overall styling. All previous solutions were nice, but Armin Strom Pure Resonance goes bold and places focus on main elements here. Yes, those are two balances on the left half of watch face. As you remember, those are oscillating in resonance hence the name of the watch. It is quite brave move, because actual time display takes quite small space on the watchface area.
Do not be surprised by only two hands on large dial. Take a look to the left of it, and you will see another circle, which is dedicated to seconds. This is quite interesting cue, and I think it make overall elements distribution less cluttered. Moreover, roman numbers look classy and work well with new design. Note that large dial is fixed in place with two screws, which are aligned diagonally. I guess designers tried to defy symmetry and everything connected with it.
Focused Precision
The same approach was taken with internals here. Frankly speaking, I was surprised when I first learned that authors decided to reduce functions in this model. From the other side it is hard to disagree with their statement that less complications mean better precision. Here the lower balance works for the main time display, while top one is used for the resonance. Armin Strom Pure Resonance also features new styling of this movement, which just has to look good because it is exposed from both sides. I have to note that it is now named as ARF 16.
Armin Strom Pure Resonance – Price
I am still quite amazed by Armin Strom watches, and today’s model is not an exclusion. It is not possible to give precise price because new model can be customized in order to suit you more. As you can guess, additional elements or changes will move price tag upwards. For now I am looking forward to try this model in person on Baselworld 2018.
